Smellhurst park has never really been a happy hunting ground for the hornets. Ok, yes, I know we demolished Palace 0-3 in the first leg of the play-offs 18 months ago, but fans with longer memories will remember being hammered 4-0 by Palace, and in possibly the worst Watford performance of all time, 5-0 by Wimbledon.
But thankfully now, that demon has been put to bed. It has been overpowered by a much stronger curse. The curse we have over Warnock’s sides away from the Vic. In all his years in charge at The Blades, Bramall Lane was a pretty happy hunting ground, and that curse has now been transferred to our bogey ground. Cheers Colin!
It's now 5 wins from 5, we’re 6 points clear of Bristol City (memories of 97-98's two horse race), and 9 points clear of West Brom in third. It's been thanks to 6 hugely satisfying away points against sides managed by two of the most dislikable people in the division. And who’s this up next? Ah, Mr Mowbray, welcome to the Vic, don't make yourself too comfortable.
