Name That Road

Exciting news! Not only will we have a new stand to name in the coming months, but the new road off Occupation Road that will be used to access the new key-worker housing requires a name too. And the club are for fans suggestions for the name.

Best of all, you don't even need to go and get a postcard and a stamp; thanks to the wonders of modern technology, you can e-mail your great idea for the name e-mail it to themediateam@watfordfc.com with your details, your suggestion and "Road Name Competition" in the header.

So, should it be Nicky Wright Close, Mooney Avenue or Yellow Fever Lane? It could be your suggestion that adorns maps of Watford for all eternity, and it could be your fault that some poor nurse will have to spell Brynjar Gunnarsson every time they give out their address. The choice is yours.

Like the sound of Welbourne Rest. We could tidy off the 1980s glory days by naming the road Blissett Close and the east stand the Taylor Stand.

Rookery View a bit too obvious?

I'm not keen on the Taylor Stand. Too much pressure on the poor incumbent of the job standing underneath it. It can't be the Luther Blisset stand either as this is where the away fans sit on Soccer AM.

I like Welbourne Rest, though I also like one suggestion from the mailing list of Yellow Brick Road.

The poor incumbent, which is an interesting way to describe our manager, would have to look at the Taylor stand all game. I hope they make a decent job of the dug outs in the Rous (amoungst the dug out that is the lower Rous),

How about The Main Stand? and Yellow Brick Road is the best I've heard for the new 50 yards of highway.
